The Future Looks Like A Horror, And, Due To A Lack Of Sheer Intestinal Fortitude, There Seems To Be Nothing We Can Do About It

The Penguin Post is not inclined to pessimism. The outlook here is generally that as bad as things get, or threaten to become, there are policies and strategies for coping. When the people running things fail us, this newsletter scolds and views with alarm, of course — but it never gives up hope that rascals will be replaced with good leaders and the cavalry will ride over the hill just in time.

All that must now be set aside in favor of lugubrious, sickening pessimism. The facts are plain: Western Civilization is going into decline, and the process cannot be reversed.

That’s a horrible thing to say, and those who say it are required to explain themselves fully. This newsletter will make a sincere effort to set out facts that are objective and verifiable; if readers discover errors, corrections will be welcomed, and published here.

In November of 2003, the predecessor of The Penguin Post reproduced the following words written by Mark Steyn and published in The Spectator:

59 per cent of Europeans think Israel is the biggest threat to world peace….(in) the Netherlands, 74 per cent. … Given the rate of Islamic immigration to Europe, those anti-Israeli numbers are heading in only one direction. At present demographic rates, by 2020 the majority of children in Holland — i.e., the population under 18 — will be Muslim. … If Americans think it’s difficult getting the Continentals on side now, wait another decade.

Europe is dying. As I’ve pointed out here before, it can’t square rising welfare costs, a collapsed birthrate and a manpower dependent on the world’s least skilled, least assimilable immigrants. In 20 years time, as those Dutch Muslim teenagers are entering the voting booths, European countries, unlike parts of Nigeria, will not be living under Sharia, but they will be reaching their accommodations with their radicalised Islamic compatriots, who like many intolerant types are expert at exploiting the “tolerance” of pluralist societies.

That’s a mild prologue to a shocking thesis. The facts you are about to discern are, as far as this newsletter knows, accurate. The conclusion to which they lead is inescapable.

The suggestion presented at the conclusion of the thesis is that the Christians in the West try to convert Muslims to Christianity. The PenPo considers that a perfectly absurd notion.

Now you are ready to entertain the thesis, which is in the form of a video. (A big tip of the hat to PenPo subscriber JH for suggesting it!)

What can or could the West do to prevent its decline and fall? There are only a few possibilities to be suggested, and all of them are hopelessly impractical.

Ideally, of course, Muslim immigration to the West should be utterly cut off, and immediately. No non-Muslim nation should admit — even as tourists — anyone even suspected of being a follower of Mohammed. Both Europe and the USA should expel most of their Muslims, even the “natural born” European/US citizens of that hoax religion. That would go down in history alongside the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492 and Idi Amin’s expulsion of East Indians from Uganda in 1972.

It will never be. The explosion of fury at the removal of Muslims from Europe and/or the USA cannot be imagined; the president of the USA might as well declare slavery re-instituted in the southern states, and federalize the National Guard to enforce the enormity.

This represents a change in the attitude of the staff of this newsletter. Here is what The Terrapin Gazette said on the thirteenth of January, 2006:

As both of our regular readers know, we consider the survival of Western Civilization to be dependent on at least three factors: the degree to which the West hates itself, the Western understanding of the threat posed by Islam, and the demographic facts.

We have…called for the expulsion of Muslims from the West in sufficient numbers to reverse population trends.

Most people regard our suggestion of what must be done to prevent the swamping of Western Civilization as inhumane, unconscionable and reprehensible. We are unconvinced by multiculturalist arguments, however. Our view is that suicide is not preferable to a preference for one’s heritage.

Here are additional quotes from that Number (81) of the TG. They provide facts that explain why a gloomy outlook is inevitable.

We begin with some commentary on the passing from politics of Ariel Sharon. The following is from Haaretz:

Sharon was very close to the goal he had been aiming to achieve ever since he became an adult: a goal that has nothing to do with peace – to remove the Arab demographic threat unilaterally.

He was a junior partner to the removal of the demographic threat in 1948, by expelling hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. And later, when he climbed the rungs of power, his wish to initiate major historic moves grew.

His “big plan,” which led to the war in Lebanon, attempted to solve the demographic problem by turning Jordan into Palestine, deporting the refugees from Lebanon, transferring them from the West Bank, and destroying the Hashemite kingdom. After this plan failed disastrously, Sharon drafted his canton plan, and strove to implement it in every post he filled. For many years he had to resort to underhanded, even illegal means, but he did not tire, and filled the territories with settlements and outposts.

Becoming prime minister enabled him to pursue his plan to “remove the demographic threat” – thus pulling out of Gaza seemed to subtract a million Palestinians from the demographic balance sheet. The “separation fence” next created isolated cantons, paving the way to fictitiously “losing” hundreds of thousands more. Setting up a separate transportation system, “border passes,” and “closures” shattered the Palestinian community into four or five sub-communities, subjected to different conditions and gradually losing touch with each other.

Thus we see that the Israelis, or at least a faction of their leadership, understood the vital importance of keeping their nation Jewish — which means non-Muslim. Yet few intelligent, informed references to this policy ever made it into the press. In almost all instances, the high fence, the withdrawal from Gaza and many other security measures were implied to be nothing more than efforts to keep terrorists out of the heart of Israel. In fact they have a second purpose that is perhaps of even greater importance.

No one knows the Muslims better than do the Israelis, and there are Israelis who have studied the population statistics. They know that unless Muslims are systematically excluded from Israel, the nation will sink in a tide of rabid Jew-haters.

Why would it be different for the USA, Great Britain, and Europe?

To answer that question, we turn to the remarks of Mark Steyn. His essay has caused considerable comment, but we are willing to wager that this is the first you have heard of it. Our source is this post.

When it comes to forecasting the future, the birthrate is the nearest thing to hard numbers. If only a million babies are born in 2006, it’s hard to have two million adults enter the workforce in 2026 (or 2033, or 2037, or whenever they get around to finishing their Anger Management and Queer Studies degrees). And the hard data on babies around the Western world is that they’re running out a lot faster than the oil is. “Replacement” fertility rate–i.e., the number you need for merely a stable population, not getting any bigger, not getting any smaller–is 2.1 babies per woman. Some countries are well above that: the global fertility leader, Somalia, is 6.91, Niger 6.83, Afghanistan 6.78, Yemen 6.75. Notice what those nations have in common?

Scroll way down to the bottom of the Hot One Hundred top breeders and you’ll eventually find the United States, hovering just at replacement rate with 2.07 births per woman. Ireland is 1.87, New Zealand 1.79, Australia 1.76. But Canada’s fertility rate is down to 1.5, well below replacement rate; Germany and Austria are at 1.3, the brink of the death spiral; Russia and Italy are at 1.2; Spain 1.1, about half replacement rate. That’s to say, Spain’s population is halving every generation. By 2050, Italy’s population will have fallen by 22%, Bulgaria’s by 36%, Estonia’s by 52%. In America, demographic trends suggest that the blue states ought to apply for honorary membership of the EU: In the 2004 election, John Kerry won the 16 with the lowest birthrates; George W. Bush took 25 of the 26 states with the highest. By 2050, there will be 100 million fewer Europeans, 100 million more Americans–and mostly red-state Americans.

Of the increase in global population between 1970 and 2000, the developed world accounted for under 9% of it, while the Muslim world accounted for 26%. Between 1970 and 2000, the developed world declined from just under 30% of the world’s population to just over 20%, the Muslim nations increased from about 15% to 20%.

In 1970, the developed world had twice as big a share of the global population as the Muslim world: 30% to 15%. By 2000, they were the same: each had about 20%.

And by 2020?

So the world’s people are a lot more Islamic than they were back then and a lot less “Western.” Europe is significantly more Islamic, having taken in during that period some 20 million Muslims (officially)–or the equivalents of the populations of four European Union countries (Ireland, Belgium, Denmark and Estonia). Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the West: In the U.K., more Muslims than Christians attend religious services each week.

Can these trends continue for another 30 years without having consequences? Europe by the end of this century will be a continent after the neutron bomb: The grand buildings will still be standing, but the people who built them will be gone. We are living through a remarkable period: the self-extinction of the races who, for good or ill, shaped the modern world.

Sometime this century there will be 500 million Americans, and what’s left in Europe will either be very old or very Muslim.

Best-case scenario? The Continent winds up as Vienna with Swedish tax rates.

Worst-case scenario: Sharia, circa 2040; semi-Sharia, a lot sooner–and we’re already seeing a drift in that direction.

What will London–or Paris, or Amsterdam–be like in the mid-’30s? If European politicians make no serious attempt this decade to wean the populace off their unsustainable 35-hour weeks, retirement at 60, etc., then to keep the present level of pensions and health benefits the EU will need to import so many workers from North Africa and the Middle East that it will be well on its way to majority Muslim by 2035. As things stand, Muslims are already the primary source of population growth in English cities. Can a society become increasingly Islamic in its demographic character without becoming increasingly Islamic in its political character?

No one grasps these points better than the international Islamic community. The dream: the entire world under the Caliphate, with dhimmis (non-Muslims) in near slavery. Ask a “moderate” Muslim which part of the Koran he does not take seriously, and once you have your answer, ask yourself whether you should take the Muslim dream seriously.

Steyn continues:

The refined antennae of Western liberals mean that whenever one raises the question of whether there will be any Italians living in the geographical zone marked as Italy a generation or three hence, they cry, “Racism!” To fret about what proportion of the population is “white” is grotesque and inappropriate. But it’s not about race, it’s about culture. If 100% of your population believes in liberal pluralist democracy, it doesn’t matter whether 70% of them are “white” or only 5% are. But if one part of your population believes in liberal pluralist democracy and the other doesn’t, then it becomes a matter of great importance whether the part that does is 90% of the population or only 60%, 50%, 45%.

Since the president unveiled the so-called Bush Doctrine–the plan to promote liberty throughout the Arab world–innumerable “progressives” have routinely asserted that there’s no evidence Muslims want liberty and, indeed, that Islam is incompatible with democracy. If that’s true, it’s a problem not for the Middle East today but for Europe the day after tomorrow. According to a poll taken in 2004, over 60% of British Muslims want to live under Shariah–in the United Kingdom. If a population “at odds with the modern world” is the fastest-breeding group on the planet–if there are more Muslim nations, more fundamentalist Muslims within those nations, more and more Muslims within non-Muslim nations, and more and more Muslims represented in more and more transnational institutions–how safe a bet is the survival of the “modern world”?

If the PenPo is correct in its view that immigration reform and expulsion of Muslims will not occur, then pessimism is the only possible reaction one can have to the facts quoted above.

This profound pessimism brings to mind the Ehrlich prediction, mentioned in PenPo Number 51, that catastrophic worldwide famine would hit in the seventh decade of the twentieth century. It is this newsletter’s sincere hope to be proved even more wrong than was Paul Ehrlich!

A careful reconsideration of the circumstances and probabilities may offer some hope. If that reconsideration provides any insights, this newsletter will publish them. For now, however, the word from here is that Europe’s Liberty is about to be snuffed out, and the USA is unable to use its value system, technology and power to defend itself. It is not in control of its future.

It’s Strange How Nobody Understands Very Plain Language

The king of Saudi Arabia speaks:

What we are talking about is not Israelis and Palestinians sitting at the table, but Israelis sitting with Palestinians, Israelis sitting with Syrians, Israelis sitting with Lebanese. And with the Arabs and the Muslim world lined up to open direct negotiations with Israelis at the same time. …it is a 57-state solution.

Very clever. Line Israel up against the entire world, and hammer the Zionists until they agree to something that will destroy their nation. And the problem is, Obama will doubtless agree to the spectacularly unfair ground rules.

The “Palestinians” are not a problem for Syria, Lebanon and fifty-five other states to solve. They are a problem created very deliberately by the Arab states, who over a half-century ago refused to accept all of them as refugees. Literally locked into concentration camps, this undereducated, gullible mass of people was systematically abused into a kind of insanity. The result is a cause that all Arabs and almost all Muslims support, even as they look down upon the “Palestinians” and refuse to do anything to help end their wretchedness. Used as tools against the hated Jews, “Palestinians” exist simply to carry out the mandate of the god of the Koran. The divinely authorized fate of Jews is either subjugation as dhimmis, or execution.

That these facts are today ignored is the shame and the insanity of our age.

The Saudi autocrat goes on to say that unless something is done to break Israeli determination to survive, there will be war, and soon. One cannot believe him; Arabs are always tossing off imposing pronouncements like this. Braggadocio is part of their concept of honor and manliness. But Obama almost certainly will mistake the declamatory rhetoric for sincere intent. And the king knows it. When The One made the mistake of bowing to the monarch, the message was sent: the elected president of a revolutionary republic that threw off a monarchy acknowledged his inferiority to a hereditary ruler of a nation that is more in the eleventh century than the twenty-first. As the silly expression puts it, that sly autarch is going to play Obama like a fiddle.

That means he expects to use those fifty-six (not including Israel) nations to coerce Israel into a position that will eventually disperse the Israelis, extinguish Israel, and prove to the world that Islam will defeat all its enemies. Once the USA steps aside and allows that to happen, the defense of the West will enter a critical phase.

And it all depends on two people. One is a lawyer who was neither intelligent nor dedicated enough to be put on a tenure track at a good law school, has a spectacularly flawed resume (most of which is literally secret), promises to police his nation with an all-powerful domestic security force whose purpose and targets remain unspecified, draws his concepts of economics and governance from neo-Marxist fantasies, is almost certainly tainted by Jew-hatred, and is best at presenting a facade of harmless geniality even as he carries out his duties in a spastic series of miscues and blunders — and the other is an ethical nullity and dullard who accuses a US general of lying (and is then proved utterly wrong by events she could not comprehend), offends Mexico with her ignorance of the basics of that nation’s cherished traditions, babbles untruths about the violence along the US border, and has a record of repeated failure in all her significant undertakings.

The world’s rascals are literally smarter than the folks who have been elected to uphold enlightened values and decent governance. The future of Western Civilization is in the wrong hands.

Anticipating Obama, And Still Getting Hammered, Means Adapting To A Greater Degree. It Will Happen

It’s a chilling quote (from here):

…this time, especially since Obama’s Chicago-style ideology was clear to anyone who’d read more than one book in their lives, businesses (and individuals) had a warning of the future train wreck.

Business began shedding workers immediately, and moving their investments/cash in preparation. The only thing that has been surprising is how quickly the train wreck occurred, and how large the death toll.

This was a much bigger train, and the conductor wasn’t simply asleep at the wheel, he was purposely running the engine at full throttle.

The reaction of business is sometimes called “Going Galt.” The term comes from Ayn Rand, a self-described philosopher and novelist with whom the PenPo is only noddingly familiar. Evidently the definition of the term has evolved since Rand published Atlas Shrugged, and now it means cutting back one’s income so as to avoid the progressive aspect of the tax code. (See PenPo Nr. 76, item titled, “This Is No Small Deal”) If you don’t earn it, Obama can’t confiscate it.

How popular is it to “go Galt”? Very. It has contributed to a decline of over thirty percent in federal receipts. How much of that decline is due to other factors is unknown, but to assume that the taxpayer boycott on earnings is not a major element here would be foolish. The concept is growing, and gaining converts. It can be thought of as the ultimate expression of the Tea Party mentality.

This has tremendous implications. If a significant segment of the US public begins to consider barter as a viable way of obtaining goods and services, and if many of the well-off refuse to earn more than a quarter million dollars a year, Washington will be hard put to tax the economy. That amounts to the people withholding support for the economic plans of the government — which is a kind of rebellion.

What’s particularly interesting about this is that for many decades, Washington has used taxes to try to modify citizens’ behavior. Taxes on “sin” and tax exemptions for good deeds were signals the obedient were expected to note. Now the ultimate message has been sent, and many are reading it not as a call to patriotic sacrifice, but as, “All your base are belong to us.” Translation: “You are in our grasp, and you will work for the federal government. You will work harder and longer than ever, and you will like it.”

Fearless prediction: there will be a burst of taxpayer innovation that will allow the average person to neither evade nor avoid taxes, but simply to ignore them to an increasing degree. Watch for large segments of the consumer economy to move away from cash and records. There will be books on how to avoid earning money but still acquire things and get people to work for you; there will be newsletters that cater to the economic separatists, and there will be increasing amounts of information on the internet to help people detach themselves from parasitic taxation and lunatic regulations.

Watch for individuals to defend themselves from a government grown fat and incompetent, and now mesmerized by neo-Marxist nonsense.

It will all add up to Obama standing at the window of the Oval Office, watching his serfs abandon the land — only to thrive, maddeningly, beyond his reach. With them will go much of his power.

What cannot be predicted is how the autocrat will respond. Will he call out his federal domestic security force, and order it to re-impose serfdom? Will he feel free to do that as long as the citizenry remains armed?

Whether, in other words, the future becomes a dystopian horror will be up to The One.

That Silly, Silly Photo-OpIf you read the report of the investigation into how it happened, you will note that the bureau in charge was sloppy, imprecise, unimaginative, and so unstructured/undisciplined that it was hopelessly inept at internal communication.

It’s not so much stupidity and incompetence — it’s more a matter of carelessness. Eliminating it means running the store as if it were an operating room in a world-class hospital: zero defects. That’s difficult to achieve, and the discipline would drive many civil servants out.

The real sin behind this particular fiasco was that nobody had the imagination or common sense to say, “Holy cow, you are going to scare the bejabbers out of a lot of people!”

Perhaps nobody thought to mention the obvious because everyone in the Obama administration knows that a lot of people are already scared spitless by the folks running the country.

Oddly enough, the NYT reports on the failure of solidarity in the feminist movement. If the Freemasons can stick together, why can’t females?

Are there genuine moderate Muslims? If so, then perhaps some of them are behind this website. By all means stop by. Unfortunately there is the practice of taqiyya, which allows Muslims to lie in order to spread the one true religion. Pardon the skepticism, but tens of millions of people — perhaps hundreds of millions — have perished at the hands of the followers of Mohammed in purely religious conflicts. Muslims are commanded by their deity to conquer the world. Is simply saying that you disregard that mandate proof that you are not a holy terror? How could you demonstrate a credible, decent ethical orientation, if you were a Muslim?

In a newly perfect world, a lot of politicians would be retiring — involuntarily — from office just now. Where, pray tell, would the PenPo wish to see them sequestered until they begin pushing up daisies? Well, this looks suitable. Ghosts! It’s haunted! Heh, heh…. It might just scare them as badly as they have scared decent folks….

There’s a thought-provoking, informative and angry article posted here. You should read it. That suggestion, while aimed at everyone, is particularly directed at you “progressives” who consider the PenPo a running joke. The post has to do with the manifest opinions of Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama regarding homosexuals. It is not just a matter of sex, though — it’s a matter of life and death. Prediction: somehow the Democrats are going to have to explain themselves…eventually. They will (1) fail, and (2) blame it all on W. Now click on the link and read the post!

The huge problem with this post is the fact that it is necessary. After all these years, after millions of needless deaths, we still need to betold that Marxism is a failure and a tragedy. It’s true: the USA faces a challenge to its prosperity and security from a system devised by an embittered, failed teacher in the nineteenth century. His misinterpretations of history and scenario for the future have been proved wrong. Nation after nation has crumbled under Marxism. That said, who is in the White House, and what is he up to?

From this weblog: “…MSNBC and other major media are no longer in the news business. They’re doing public relations for the Obama administration and the Democratic Party….” OK, but to say that “Exposure of the media role in the Obama phenomenon is what the Left fears most….” seems a bit extreme.

And when they get together to poke a little fun at themselves, the media types who are allowed to “cover” the White House poke fun everywhere but at…you know. Quote from here: “…she reserved her barbs for people who weren’t there: Dubya, John McCain, Dick Cheney, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.” A couple of evidential videos are found at the link. There’s a dim view here. Meanwhile we all know that The One won’t break faith with his toadies. Isn’t some of this pretty scary, though — rather like Goebbels telling Streicher a Jewish joke?

This will be ignored: it’s yet more proof that the global warming cult (now re-christened anti-“climate change” activism) is not preaching science. Observed data are so far away from where they are supposed to be that the entire study will doubtless be junked, maybe even replaced with another hoax like the hockey stick graph Al Gore used to point to when misinforming the masses.

The carbon tax. You are keeping up with this crap, aren’t you?

Illegal weather. This concept has to be a historically significant low recorded in the UN publication, Worldwide Compendium of Artifacts Indicative Of Human Individual Intelligence Levels.

Is this an explanation that dispenses with — necessarily dismisses — a divine creator? “…the early steps on the way to life are an inevitable, incremental result of the operation of the laws of chemistry and physics operating under the conditions that existed on the early Earth, a result that can be understood in terms of known (or at least knowable) laws of nature. As such, the early stages in the emergence of life are no more surprising, no more accidental, than water flowing downhill.” Probably. No miracles needed = no god needed. But proving that there is no creator deity will never be possible, because it isn’t a scientific question. OK, if you want to see how high school chemistry (well, not quite) led easily to life, read this.

You probably saw this: Chief Islamic Judge in the “Palestinian” Authority shoots off mouth, Pope walks.

Straight talk on corporate profits.

In social and economic policy, ever since Maggie left Number Ten, Britain has led and the USA has tended to follow. So here’s what some pioneers have to say about the path on which the USA is setting foot. Think of it as getting a prediction from Madame Zelda, without having to put up with Madame Zelda. Then have a look at the complexities and dilemmas involved in planning socialized health care. It should be daunting, but then Obama says, “Yes, we can!” Unfortunately that means, “You can damn sure bet you will!” No voluntary health program will be offered because socialism depends on appropriating the treasure of everyone; you may not use the system, but it will use you.

You will enjoy this: “Extreme shepherding in Wales has produced a hugely popular viral internet advert for Samsung TVs using sheep in LED bodysuits, clever sheepdogs and clever editing.” A hat tip to GB for the fun.

From this weblog, this quote with links: “…TaxProf rounds up the reaction in the popular press to the newly-released details of the Obama administrations hideous new tax proposals. See, e.g., the Wall Street Journal’s short summary.” Over to you.

California is about to vote on whether to slide into the ocean. “Arnold was elected to slash taxes and spending, and somehow he confused that mandate with orders to throw in with the public employee unions.” That was a big disappointment to the PenPo, whose predecessor, The Terrapin Gazette, predicted Arnold would breathe new life into the moderate GOP, stop the entrenched cliques that were plundering the populace, and make the state more prosperous. Oops.

Now for a post that has to be about the most irritating, nonsensical stack of vacuous verbiage to come down the pike in many a year. It’s about “music as torture.” No, really. Torture? Caused by music? You don’t need to read about it; ask any parent! Ask anyone who is caught at a red light next to a rolling boom-box! We don’t need any philosophizing on this…as this sample quote proves: “…the (American Musicological Society) parades in lockstep with other contemporary institutions, for which Enlightenment rhetoric masks the disfigurations of capitalism, and big, idealistic statements muffle the groans of social division and injustice.” Yikes. But in case you have a case of lexical masochism, or are enchanted by the very idea of meditating on a disfiguration of capitalism (??), click away.

Economics is not a science, it’s a study. Investing is…not quite gambling, not quite earning. So how can anyone predict prosperity levels? It’s impossible. Still posts like this are interesting.

Wretchard the Cat speculates on the death of newspapers.

The left used to say that dissent was an expression of sincere patriotism. Then the tables turned. So today there’s the Federal Response to Discord and Divisive Rhetoric, Ver. 2. It is also called the OTOIR (“Opposition to Obama is racism“) rejoinder (more on that here), pronounced with a trendy French twist: “OH-twahr.” You know, like “abattoir.”

“Progressive” anti-black racism documented. Lots of links.

Chavez of Venezuela goes on yet another robbery binge. This probably puts him at or near the top of the 2009 Top Ten List of Thugs in Latin America. Note the decline in petroleum production, and the portrayal of Venezuela’s prospects for the future. Was this reported in your newspaper?

Is there a twelve-step program for recovering lefties? Probably not. It’s pretty much a DIY project, it seems.

This was supposed to be funny: “Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.” This newsletter is not particularly amused, as the joke is nasty and unfair to soldiers, who are not murderers. More here, in the unlikely event that you care.

Dealing with accounts of ACORN’s illegal voter registrations in several states takes a flak-catcher with armor plate for skin. Confronting somebody like that is good theatre, so TV guy Glenn Beck took advantage of the golden opportunity and did his flamboyant best to put things into context. And of course he was called a racist by a frantic ACORN operative (unfortunately off camera). Right; all those who oppose Obama are just bigots, you know. You have heard that before and you will hear it again and again.

Poor Obama. The “wingnuts” say he’s leading the nation into the quagmire of socialism. The “moonbats” say he’s W II, following way too many of the previous administration’s policies. Read all about it, get a taste of the hypocrisy, and savor the distress of some of scummy people.

As this newsletter said not long ago (Number 78), “Pelosi is lying.” Yes, she has lied, and she still is lying. She knew all about waterboarding. This is one brazen female. — This just in: Nan-Nan seems to be trying to weasel out of the mess she’s in by complicating the issue until nobody really understands it. Her latest version of events is here. That tactic will probably work, partly because people won’t do the work necessary to see through her obfuscation, but mostly because this topic is getting very boring very quickly.
