Of all the lies that are swallowed and regurgitated by the media, the ones that hurt the most come from the Good Guys. The grass-roots do-gooders, the social work heroes, the non-profit advocacy groups battling for peace, justice, and equality. …holding the good guys accountable doesn’t mean that they are bad guys…. Apply equal skepticism to both sides. And if your mother says she loves you, check it out.
A “wingnut” remarks on the state of the world, as seen from the USA:
Egypt teeters on the brink of civil war, Syria is still in civil war, Lebanon is also on the brink, Iran marches forward to nuclear arms, the U.S. economy remains a mess, unemployment is rampant, more people are on food stamps than work in the private sector, the deficit grows exponentially by the second, Social Security is going bankrupt, Medicare is going bankrupt, the IRS has virtually taken over the country and is about to subsume health care, Benghazi remains unresolved, the NSA is spying on everything and everybody between here and Alpha Centauri….
Yes, and it seems no one is plotting a rational course through the storms. In the USA, Obama literally ignores the approaching chaos and the news media remain unimpressed by the government’s incompetence.
The people who could make a difference, are, in other words, distracted. So events unfold without restraint or correction.
And what is the distraction? Few understand…that a seductive Utopian myth is leading the West astray.
A President Explains A Foundational Principle
President Calvin Coolidge:
About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers. Willful Prevarication Heaped Upon Manifest Absurdity
Begin with Benghazi: this recent documentary report is from the “wingnuts” at Fox, but don’t let that put you off. This comprehensive and objective video deserves your consideration.
Next, ponder events in Egypt.
You must understand what the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) is. The facts are here. Don’t skip them, or you will make the same mistake Obama and Hillary and Kerry all made, and continue to make.
Unfortunately the US ruling elite just could not grasp that simple truth. Later the blind poseurs doubled down on their failure to understand by making a very bad choice. While the Egyptian electorate realized what a terrible mistake had been made, the Obamites in Washington and Foggy Bottom stupidly plodded straight into trouble. Because the Egyptian majority demanded that the MB go, the army responded, and the outsiders who had never mastered the facts started complaining about the nullification of democracy:
Locking out the MB from the early elections promised by the military “would be a cure worse than the ill, almost certainly driving Islamist groups underground and giving rise to a generation of radicalized Islamists, in Egypt and beyond, who will have lost faith in peaceful, democratic change,” the International Crisis Group, a New York-based organization that offers recommendations to policy makers, said in a July 3 statement. (Source).
The above reasoning can be accurately summarized: the MB is composed of extremists who want to force the world to submit to their death cult; if free people deny them political legitimacy, the murderers will “give rise to….radicalized” fanatics because, either way, they intend to win. So the best course of action is to get out of their way. After all, they simply want to impose tyranny through “peaceful, democratic change”, and if they can’t accomplish that transformation, they will impose tyranny through violence and the threat of violence.
The absurdity of this fractured logic is stunning.
Clearly, outfits like this International Crisis Group are stalking horses for bloody-handed religious dictatorship.
Having done your homework, you should now recall that the lying started early (Hillary immediately began babbling moronically about how that would-be film producer caused all the fuss; the US constitution be damned, that rascal would be locked up for having dared to make a video trailer for a film he hoped to complete). In spite of the obvious falsity of the entire scenario, the lying continued, and a compliant press refused both to question the administration properly and report responsibly.
What in the world does all this mean?
Perhaps the real question should be, “Why does Obama imply that Islamist violence is a perfectly natural reaction to Western misbehavior, rather than admit that it is doctrinal?”
Since candor is not to be expected from the White House, one can only speculate. While falling short of certitude, rational analysis should shed some light on current US policy.
Point The First: Note that Obama the community organizer chooses to characterize Islam as a great religion, and demands that the future must not belong to those who denounce the deeds and teachings of Mohammed. He seems to be trying to silence observations that proceed directly from the pages of the Koran. In fact, Islam is a self-proclaimed death cult that demands not equal status with other religions, but claims a divine mandate to dominate or exterminate all other faiths.
Point The Second: Obama and former Secretary Clinton portray criticism of Islam as genuinely hurtful to Muslims. They may have a point; who, after all, enjoys hearing criticism of his religious beliefs? That simple truth is not, however, the crux of the matter. The Obamoid interpretation of Islamist violence is an attempt to explain mass murder as natural, understandable, and preventable if only people would stop criticizing Islam. Muslims, Obama and Hillary are saying, have very thin skins and must not be scolded for their mistakes or beliefs, no matter how egregious and inhumane.
The basis for this gentle approach to coping with homicidal mayhem is the insane assertion that if treated kindly and with brotherly love, all people will respond with civil tranquility and tolerance.
Third, the two points above permit a prediction: over time, Obamoid policy will increasingly attempt to portray even the most bloodthirsty and intransigent Islamist teachings as moderate, tolerant and pliable.
Now it will be immediately objected that Obama hunted down and assassinated Osama bin Laden, and that he orders the deaths of even US citizens he considers to be enemies of Washington. His vigorous prosecution of the (improperly named) “War on Terror” means that he is a stalwart defender of Liberty. How can this fact be squared with the first two points above?
Remember that Obama is a community organizer, a propagandist. Maintaining contradictory views comes easily to him. He hammers the “terrorists” (again, bad name for them) because they are his rivals, not because he acts out of a principle such as a genuine love of Liberty. He is not defending his nation — he is fighting to be the leader of the pack. His intent is anything but to preserve US and Western society as it is. His goal is change that will fundamentally restructure the western world, bringing it under control for the benefit of all. The community organizer is a late-blooming anticolonialist who can never forgive western nations for their historical exploitation of Africa, Asia, and the New World.
If you think of Obama as an ideologue who has never gotten over the British suppression of the Mau Mau, you will move toward an understanding of the man. Recall that he sides with Argentina in the dispute over The Falklands.
As a community organizer, Obama has Utopian dreams. In the long term, he wants to transform literally all nations and cultures, bringing them into an ordered, self-disciplined, stable system. In short, like all Utopians, he seeks the end of history.
Islam has the same overall goal. The world as Obama hopes it will become is not, however, the ideal Islamic world. A universal caliphate would not satisfy Obama’s requirements; he would prefer to integrate Islam into his thoroughly-organized Utopia, taming it with kindness and flattery until it blends with diluted Christianity and politically correct (and therefore eviscerated) Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist sects. If the people and the economy and the religions are properly controlled, they can and will coexist peacefully — in this phantasmagorical future.
If this sounds insane, that’s because it is. No, this interpretation of Obamoid goals and motives is not fanciful — the goals are delusions, and the means employed to attain them are sheer lunacy.
Does Obama actually think this way?
The US president’s plans include short-term goals for the USA and the world; he wants to reinvent the national economy by crippling capitalism, end the function of government as defender against tyranny and convert it to a provider of benefits, introduce new values and taboos, and push for world peace by marginalizing the suicidal lunatics and forcing all cultures to accept the ascendancy of the unjustly persecuted faith of Mohammed. He looks at the world and sees tens of millions of perfectly peaceful Muslims, and, utter cynic that he is, cannot understand why any decent person would insist on being a Jew rather than a Muslim, or a Buddhist rather than a Hindu. All religions are basically the same in Obama’s world; they are more entertainment than anything else (as his years spent listening to the buffoonery of the Reverend Mr. Wright indicate), and their doctrinal distinctions are superficial, inconsequential, and a bit silly. For him, Christianity is more a name than a spiritual response with any transcendental value.
Accordingly, why not grant Islam nominal power? As long as society is controlled by a benevolent, politically enlightened elite, what does it matter that you call your deity by this or that name (or no name at all)? All holy books are the same, when you get down to basics.
Every rational person — yes, even atheists — ought to be offended by the arrogance of Obama’s misconceptions. Clearly, the significance of a faith rests on the perceived verity of its uniqueness. Wishing away the character of Islamic teachings is a fool’s diversion.
Expect two horrid events: first, Obamites will paint colonialist Muslims as peaceful, moderate, and decent.
Second, the acceptance of Muslims and their doctrines will be imposed on the West; governments will use the racial integration of the USA as a model, and require compliance. Hate crimes — though the very concept is irrational — will be emphasized, and the jurisprudential system will increasingly force the public to give way before a faith that literally intends to destroy Western Civilization.
Recently reader GB provided this newsletter with information which had been overlooked here (sincere thanks go to him for his help). There is a Muslim group that has already gained a foothold in the USA and appears to be both utterly unsuited to its surroundings and immune to corrective measures (which measures would include deportation). Do take a few moments to become familiar with the Gülen Movement. (GB’s comment: “Fetullah Gülen is very well known in Turkey, especially among the secularists, who despise him. Many believe that the USA is using him to destabilize Turkey”.)
When Gülen becomes an issue, expect Obama and his loyal troops to praise the group, defend it against those who insist it is an asp the US is clasping to its bosom, and call for regulations on “hate speech”. Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer may be jailed.
Of course the camel’s nose under the tent may be some other Islamist organization or individual, but overall, the future of freedom of speech and press are at risk, and that’s what matters. Liberty, the powerful but fragile quality that took centuries to achieve, is threatened. Those who fear and hate it are determined to extinguish it. Count Obama as one of their number.
In truth, committed Obamite collectivists are above almost nothing. They lie; they mislead; they are shameless; they “accept responsibility” and then angrily refuse it; their cynicism is monumental. They are insatiably power-hungry traitors to their civilization.
That is the lesson one should take away from the tragedy of Benghazi.
A Scientific Dispute
Eusapia Palladino was a psychic. Born in the late nineteenth century, she aroused considerable excitement with her parlor tricks. Paul Kurtz remarks in his book The Transcendental Temptation (ISBN 0-87975-362-5) that she…
…so intrigued the world of science that she continued to be tested by distinguished scholars and men and women of science, such as Henri Bergson and Pierre and Marie Curie. Eusapia received handsome fees for her sittings. Though highly controversial, she became a celebrity. Some scientists, such as Professor Enrico Morelli of the University of Genoa, declared unreservedly that Eusapia Palladino possessed paranormal powers, but others continued to insist that she was a fraud. Thus, the scientific world was divided in their (sic) verdict.
Scientists can be simple or obsessively dogmatic, and even the best scholars can mislead the public. For all his genius and foresight, Nicola Tesla made some amazing mistakes. The point: surviving members of the anthropogenic global warming cult should meditate on Eusapia’s story, for it demonstrates the fallibility of science and the undeserved credibility that clever frauds can achieve.
For the second time lately, the importance of triage at the scene of a disaster is demonstrated. The first recent example was the exemplary work done by Boston’s first responders when Muslim extremists blew up the marathon; the second was at the crash of the Korean plane in San Francisco. In both cases, not a few lives were definitely saved. — By the way, did you know that the identical model of Boeing aircraft, operated by the same airline, crashed in Greece — five minutes before the San Francisco plane went down? There may be more to those crashes than meets the jaundiced eye. (For more on the stricken aircraft, go here and click on “Daily News”; then look for and click on the report for July 7, 2013. Sorry, but there is no URL for just that particular daily report.)

JY also suggests a nostrum for those who take a “progressive” view of the legal state of wedlock: have a look at the rationale found here, and then formulate your prescription for everlasting domestic tranquility. (Reminder — definitions: bigamy, polygyny, polygamy, polyandry.)
Do you remember Mel Brooks’s film, The Producers? Well, thereby hangs a tale, almost. The difference: the truth is stranger than the movie script.
The Dean of NTG subscribers suggests this read on how Uncle Sam is trying to identify federal employees and service personnel who might become whistle-blowers. Like phrenology and fortune-telling, it’s not likely to work — and merely confirms the eternal gullibility of troubled minds.
After more than four years, Obamoid foreign policy is still an amateur production.
For some time, this newsletter has been expecting bad news from South America. This is overdue, and it won’t be the last distressing report to come from the region. Al Qaeda and its allies are more active there than is commonly known.
This guy may have just found the key that unlocks the mystery: he insists that “For liberals, ‘economic best interests’ does not meaning (sic) lower taxes, lower living expenses, or having a job.” Now that’s an insight that demands consideration, which you can undertake by looking here.
Whoa! The NY Times published this on rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide. How it got past the gatekeepers is a mystery….
Here’s more on Eric Holder and issues related to his office.
A dissident Iranian group claims there is a previously unknown facility engaged in building a nuclear bomb. As usual, nobody is able to do anything about it — yet.
Iraq is unhappy with its SWAT teams. The idea did not export all that successfully from the USA. Come to think of it, it does not always work well there, either.
There’s something very peculiar here, and it should be investigated. Given the attitude of the press, however, it will be ignored and most people will never hear a word about any of it.
Related: have you ever heard of anything even remotely like this happening in a trial? And…isn’t the judge in error here? She seems to be giving the defense excellent grounds to appeal Zimmerman’s conviction. Worse, as the news carries reports of (a) calls for national race riots surpassing the Rodney King rioting in Los Angeles, and (b) law enforcement’s preparations for mob violence, how likely is it that Zimmerman will be acquitted? While many professionally qualified observers insist that Zimmerman can not be convicted of any crime, no one can predict what this very unusual — distinctly atypical and possibly unconstitutionally selected — jury will do. Are those females, after all, Zimmerman’s “peers”?
Closely related: Holder meddles, and nobody wants to see it or report it. That’s how “wingnut” sources lose their credibility: when they are alone in reporting villainy, “progressives” can dispute the reports as fabrications that cannot be vetted by checking with other sources. In effect, the silence of the mainstream press tends to repress honest reporting. As NTG has said many times, in order to be effective, censorship need not be complete.
Speaking of censorship — there is hard evidence to support the claim that Obama voters would agree to repeal the Bill of Rights. Nice work, “progressives”!
Some years ago, the NTG editor presented his physician with a paper disputing the wisdom of low-salt diets. The hapless editor was frostily rebuffed. Today, things are different. Read the linked article if your politically incorrect fondness for salty food still offends your uninformed quack — er, doctor. (Facts: insufficient salt and calcium in the diet cause high blood pressure; there are other causes, as well.)

The victory of feminist gender-equivalent policy is complete, though this is not exactly what the females had in mind, however much many of them might applaud the wretched outcome. The next task: bringing ethics to the entire homosexual community.
Politically correct racism. There is no other accurate term for it.
Revealed: governmental bigotry that repeats pro-slavery arguments and tacitly endorses non-existent Jim Crow laws. A disgrace! Do you want to place a bet on what Obama will have to say about this? NTG predicts he will either say nothing or endorse the unethical policy.
How is the USA getting along, now that The One has brought Change? Has your Hope been fulfilled?
A lot of computer hardware was collected when bin Laden was assassinated; whatever became of the data it contained? Perhaps the linked account is reliable.
